The MOR CRS929 Multi-stage carbon rings are high-precision, wear-resistant sealing components specifically designed for screw compressors, engineered to solve gas leakage problems in the rotor shaft seal of screw compressors. With a multi-stage stacked structure and high-performance carbon-based materials, they provide reliable, low-friction, and long-lasting sealing solutions for screw compressors operating in various industrial scenarios, effectively improving compressor efficiency and reducing energy consumption.

 

Structural Design & Core Functional Advantages

Multi-Stage Stacked Design: Adopts a multi-stage (usually 3-6 stages) stacked structure, which forms a step-by-step pressure reduction seal, significantly reducing gas leakage and improving sealing efficiency. Each stage of the carbon ring works independently and cooperatively, ensuring excellent sealing performance even under high-pressure and high-speed operating conditions.

High-Quality Carbon Material: Made of high-purity graphite carbon with added reinforcing materials (such as resin, metal, or ceramic particles), featuring excellent self-lubrication, wear resistance, and heat resistance. The material has good toughness and corrosion resistance, adapting to various compressor media such as air, natural gas, and chemical gases.

Low Friction & Energy-Saving: The carbon ring has a low friction coefficient, which minimizes friction loss between the ring and the shaft during operation, reducing the energy consumption of the screw compressor and extending the service life of both the carbon rings and the compressor shaft.

Self-Compensating Performance: The carbon ring has a certain degree of elasticity and self-compensating ability, which can automatically compensate for wear and slight shaft deflection, ensuring stable sealing performance during long-term operation and reducing maintenance frequency.

Easy Installation & Maintenance: The split-type design (optional) allows for quick on-site installation and disassembly without disassembling the entire compressor, greatly reducing maintenance time and operational difficulty. The standardized dimensions ensure good interchangeability with original equipment parts.

 

Hazardous Media Adaptability


This mechanical seal carbon ring is specifically designed for scenarios involving hazardous media, including toxic substances like chlorine gas in chemical compressors and ammonia in refrigeration compressors, as well as harmful fluids such as corrosive oil in petrochemical compressors. Its carbon ring uses impregnated graphite with a density of 1.8g/cm³, which has no pores or gaps to prevent dust of particle size ≥0.1μm, solid particles like metal shavings in lubricating oil, and other impurities from entering the seal interface. This ensures the purity of the hazardous medium and avoids blockage of the screw compressor's internal flow channels.

 

It is particularly suitable for two types of key working conditions:
first, environments where medium leakage is strictly prohibited, such as pharmaceutical compressors handling sterile gases where leakage would contaminate the production environment;


second, scenarios requiring collection of leaked medium, such as compressors handling valuable rare gases where the multi-stage carbon ring structure guides leaked medium into a dedicated recovery pipeline.


This reduces resource waste by over 95% and avoids environmental pollution from hazardous medium leakage.
