For general water, wastewater, food and mild chemical working conditions, the eMG1 Elastomer Bellows Mechanical Seal delivers stable and long-lasting sealing performance with standard material configurations. However, this non-balanced elastomer bellows seal is not universally adaptable to all chemical environments.
Strong oxidizing fluids and high-concentration corrosive media pose the highest application risks. These aggressive substances can gradually degrade elastomer materials, cause facial pitting corrosion, or accelerate chemical aging even under normal temperature and pressure parameters. Many field leakage failures occur not due to incorrect pressure or temperature settings, but due to underestimated medium corrosivity.
For projects involving concentrated chemicals, strong oxidants or compound corrosive fluids, material compatibility verification is mandatory before installation. Only after confirming matching elastomer and seal face grades can the seal achieve reliable long-term operation.
