Conditions for use of mechanical seals mainly include the following aspects:
Temperature conditions: The temperature range of mechanical seals is an important condition for use. Appropriate sealing materials should be selected according to actual conditions to ensure sealing performance.
Pressure conditions: The application pressure of mechanical seals is generally not more than 2.5 MPa. If the pressure exceeds this value, a bellows mechanical seal should be used.
Speed conditions: The operating speed of the mechanical seal should be selected according to the seal type. For rotating sealing surfaces, it generally does not exceed 25 m/s; for reciprocating sealing surfaces, the appropriate speed should be selected according to the material and structural type of the seal.
Temperature gradient conditions: Inconsistent temperatures on both sides of the seal or sharp temperature changes can easily cause mechanical seal leakage.
Environmental conditions: Factors such as pH value, chemical properties, and viscosity of the working environment of the mechanical seal will affect its use effect.
